The Day of the Show
STONEHAVEN HORSE SHOW
Info for: "Day of the Show" on Aug 25 and Sept 22
|
| 1. |
Riders
(and a parent unless otherwise informed) should be at Bedford Woods
by 6 a.m. Horses need to be groomed before they go to the show.
|
| 2. |
By
6:30 a.m. we will take the horses to Stonehaven Farm and get them
settled into their stalls. Riding in the show ring is permitted
between 7-8 a.m. All riders will ride at this time, but they do
not need to be in their show clothes. Riders that are sharing horses
will take turns riding so that everybody is comfortable in the show
ring.
|
| 3. |
The
show starts at 8:30 a.m., so any students showing in the morning
classes will need to get ready. Students showing in the afternoon
classes will have a break, but they should watch the morning classes
because it is a good learning experience. It is best to stay close
to Debbi so that you can listen and learn.
|
| 4. |
PARENTS:
Please do not leave the property with any student because sometimes
classes are re-arranged and we don't want any students missing their
classes.
|
| 5. |
Students
showing in the morning classes should plan on staying all day to
help with the afternoon classes. Horse shows are a group effort
and everybody should help out whenever needed. Horses will need
to be watered, fed, etc.
|
| 6. |
A
concession stand will be open if anybody gets hungry. Parents, please
make your children eat a little bit, even if they're nervous. (I
would rather have people throw up than pass out.)
Anybody that
leaves the property for food should ask around to see if anyone
else wants anything. Please don't forget about Debbi because she
won't be able to leave.
|
| 7. |
Everybody
is expected to stick around until the horse show is over. The stalls
will need to be cleaned, the horses will need to be taken care of
and tack cleaned and put away.
|
| 8. |
A
party will be held immediately after the horse show at Bedford Woods.
We will provide pizza, pop, and probably some adult beverages. It's
a good chance to re-cap the day and look forward to the next show.
